make breakfast special with aunt jemima

You don’t need a special reason to fix a pancake breakfast. With Aunt Jemima and a little creativity, you can make any breakfast special.

Here are some fun ways to make your family’s breakfast special any day of the week.

  • Have a Themed Breakfast

Create fun and delicious themes for your pancake breakfast with some imagination and a few ingredients. To celebrate autumn, for example, try adding some pumpkin and cinnamon to your pancake batter. To set the mood, you can decorate the table with small gourds and use paper napkins with fall leaves.
  • Build Your Own Pancakes

Let your children add their favorite ingredients to their pancakes. Have small bowls filled with ingredients such as chopped fresh fruit, berries, walnuts, and chocolate chips for them to choose from. You can also have a variety of toppings, such as syrup, fruit preserves, and whipped cream that they can add to their pancakes.
  • Pancake Sandwiches

Who says a sandwich has to be built on slices of bread? If your family prefers sandwiches for breakfast, why not let them make their favorite sandwich on pancakes? From peanut butter and jelly to sausage and egg, there’s really no limit to the number of possibilities your family can create.
  • Breakfast Doesn’t have to be in the Morning

Many families enjoy having breakfast for dinner as a special treat. The next time your family can’t decide on what to have for dinner, why not have a hearty pancake breakfast? To set the mood and for some extra fun, be sure to have everyone wear their pajamas at the dinner table.

Sunday Breakfast Mystery Ingredient Animal Pancakes
For as long as I can remember, we have had Sunday Breakfast. It started before I was born and has been a tradition ever since. Our very large extended family would gather at 9:00AM at grama and grampas house. We would have pancakes and sausage ALWAYS prepared by the men of the family. The women would clean up. The number of people varies from 10 to 30 depending on who is in town and what time of year it is. We eat in shifts with kids going first. We now buy 5 pound boxes of pancake flour (complete of course) and gallon jugs of syrup. Sunday breakfast is a tribute to the importance of family nurtured by my late grandparents.
